Drug Enforcement Agency agents are filing a lawsuit against the CIA and NSA for what they consider illegal investigations and harassment. Pacificas Dennis Bernstein has broken the story and joins us to discuss the details.
Congressional Black Caucus
This past week, African American politicians and activists from around the U.S. gathered in the nations capitol for the annual Congressional Black Caucus weekend, a series of workshops, forums and parties. This years meeting had a powerful galvanizing issue: the recent revelation that the CIA was involved in introducing crack-cocaine into the African American community of Los Angeles. Over 2000 people showed up for a forum on this subject last Thursday, sponsored by Representative Maxine Waters of California.
Environmental Activists Arrested at Demonstration
MORE THAN A THOUSAND Environmental activists were arrested at a demonstration at the Pacifica Lumber Company in Northern California yesterday. The protest was against the planned salvage logging of the Headwaters, thousands of acres of old-growth redwood forest.
